Cambium Learning - Background

Cambium Learning (ABCD) is the NASDAQ listed holding company formed in 2009 which provides educational solutions, printed material and services company largely to primary schools. Over recent years revenues from printed education materials in the Voyager Sopris Learning and Kurzweil Education divisions have been in decline while higher margin digital subscription based internet revenues in the company's flagship Learning A-Z and Explore Learning divisions have been on the rise, with expectations technology revenues will be 80% of total revenues in 2018. We are also encouragingly seeing growth in digital subscription products in the problematic Voyager Sopris division with the products LANGUAGE! Live and Velocity getting traction in 2017.


Learning A-Z  is a Tucson, Arizona company founded in 2002 and operates seven subscription-based websites: Reading A-Z (ranked no 1 in K-5) and one of the key ABCD products , Raz-Kids also one of the key ABCD products , Headsprout , Science A-Z , Writing A-Z, Vocabulary A-Z, and ReadyTest A-Z.  Learning A-Z produces online teaching materials to assist with differentiated instruction in reading, writing, and science for grades K-6.

ExploreLearning is a Charlottesville, Virginia company with two subscription based website products that augment core instruction in the classroom.  Gizmos for grades 3-12 and Reflex for grades 2-8. Gizmos is a large library of interactive, online simulations of math and science concepts that enable infinite “what-if” exploration (HTML5 code base). Reflex is a math fact fluency builder.
